Today I gave Jon the option to decide what we did all day. I told him I wanted to try to go to another beach. His response was that they were all probably covered in garbage. Also, why spend $30 to drive to a gross beach and then turn around and come back after an hour.
Valid.
So his request for the day? All day at the pool :). I could get down with that.
We woke up, ate breakfast upstairs at the buffet. Hung out by the pool. Ate lunch at the pool. Talked to some folks. Swam. Relaxed.
Overall it was a pretty awesome day! What made it better??
STILL NO RAIN IN BALI!!!
Interestingly everyone we've met here has been Aussie. Not sure why we were expecting to meet more Americans on our travels around Asia, but (not shockingly) there have been SOOOOO many more tourists from Australia and China. I guess the whole other side of the world thing makes it a little difficult/expensive for lots of Americans to get here. Certainly makes sense.
Around 2 we received a text message from Jetstar (the airline we're taking to Melbourne tomorrow) that our flight was already delayed 6 hours. WHAAATTTT???? We had timed it PERFECTLY - leave our hotel after checkout at noon for a 3 pm flight, arriving at 11 pm. Now our flight isn't leave until 8:30 pm and isn't getting in until 4:40 AM.UGHHHHHHH.
While it's annoying that our flight has been delayed (especially since it's our first flight with Jetstar and AirAsia was SO awesome), I guess we can't really complain all that much about being forced to spend another day in Bali... :-p.
After our (mostly) relaxing afternoon, we watched the sunset. I had left my camera and my iPhone downstairs and decided to just enjoy the sunset since we'd been seeing lots of duds lately. Well. I certainly missed out with this one. It was a STUNNING sunset. Shades of blue and purple and orange right near the sun, with the rays illuminating the clouds surrounding it in a brilliant yellow shade. There was literally every color of the rainbow. And it lasted for about 45 minutes.
And I didn't have my cameras.
Honestly, I was kind of grateful for it - it made us really enjoy the sunset, just the two of us, swimming in the pool in Bali together, watching a beautiful, beautiful sunset together :).
After the sunset finally subsided we got ready and headed out for dinner on the town. When we got back we decided to make use of our free "welcome drink" that we had received when we checked in. We went to the upstairs bar to use it...and they told us that it was good for juice. Just juice. To be fair, it didn't say anything else on the ticket, just "free welcome drink". I guess we had ASSUMED there would (or could) be alcohol in it... We declined the waiter's offer of mango, pineapple, or orange juice and headed to another bar where we purchased adult beverages. Much better.
After the bar we went back to our room to await Wells Fargo's call (because we still have not been contacted by them regarding our credit card/debit card situation)...annnddd they still haven't called.
We're off to bed now but hoping that they call in the morning like they said they would...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yea right.
Jess' and Jon's highlight of the day: the pool!
