Here's something we've learned since being in Asia: people want to be helpful. Even if they don't know the answer to your question. Even if they have no clue how to help you. I can't even tell you the number of times we've asked people a question and they've given us a VERY direct answer, only to find out they are VERY wrong. From directions: turn left at the corner (nope it was on the right) to advice: rent a car - it's the cheapest way to see that temple (orrrrr a tour is 1/3 the price...) and everything in between, people have tried to be helpful...but they really have been anything but. I'd SOOOOOOOO much rather have someone tell me "I don't know" or "ask this person - they might know", but continuously getting pointed in the wrong direction is EXHAUSTING!!
